MODULE 1
Leadership, Self and Community:
Understanding the Role of Culture, Language, Traditions in Effective Leadership
This module will challenge you to use the lens of self-awareness as a key tool in your ongoing leadership journey. The importance of acknowledging and integrating elements of language, culture and local traditions when engaging stakeholders and project partners both domestically and internationally will be reviewed and applied.
OUTCOME: Explore personal self-awareness as a tool for enhancing leadership capabilities as it relates to language, culture and local
traditions.
MODULE 2
Balancing Community
Socioeconomic Objectives to promote Community Wellbeing
This module will look both locally and globally at meaningful partnerships and economic development models that are based on holistic, values-driven approaches to attaining inclusive community development. You will learn how to support the capacity building of community members considering large scale economic development, while respecting the communities' own visions of growth. Hybrid ventures will be examined as a potential driver of this
development.
OUTCOME: Review innovative models of meaningful partnerships in the promotion of values-driven, inclusive economic development.

TUESDAY JUNE 12

MODULE 3
Inspiring Action for Healthy Community Development
The module will examine local and global approaches to healthy communities. Elements considered will include the cultural, social, economic, and environmental factors that impact the health of individuals and communities. It will also explore a community's existing capacity to develop in a healthy manner; the role of community engagement and political commitment in this development; multi-sectoral collaboration; and the proximity of a community to hubs of economic development.
OUTCOME: Examine multi-faceted approaches to promoting healthy community development.
MODULE 4
Building Community Leadership Skills and Capabilities
This module will examine traditional, domestic and International approaches to leadership, including individual and collective decision making. The role of leadership in mobilizing mainstream and marginalized youth will be considered. Why do some communities succeed, while others face hurdles that seem insurmountable? How can capacity building be delivered in a manner which community members embrace and then use to achieve results? Best practices to build community leadership will be examined and the potential for their duplication assessed.
OUTCOME: Understand best practices to building community leadership.
MODULE 5
Collaborative and Respectful Leadership in a Globalized/Localized World
This module will examine local and global examples of collaborative leadership that have resulted in change at the community level. Indigenous approaches to leadership will be considered. It will explore why a collaborative and respectful method is essential to achieving effective leadership and long-term results, and the attainment of team leadership. If you are seeking buy-in to your vision, application of this approach is essential.
OUTCOME: Understand the role of collaborative leadership in successful strategy engagement.

WEDNESDAY JUNE 13, THURSDAY JUNE 14, FRIDAY JUNE 15 ? EXPERIENTIAL DIALOGUES

Gain experiential knowledge of best leadership practices from in the field dialogues with diverse entrepreneurs and executives, learning about leadership strategies and management of sectoral organizational issues; and dialogue within team groups to challenge your leadership assumptions and gain insights applicable to positional, career, and organizational opportunities.
